Mr. DePetro began his career as a prosecutor for the District Attorney of Queens County in New York City. As an Assistant District Attorney he handled thousands of cases, trying many of them to completion before juries. Mr. DePetro was also a part of Major Crimes Career Criminal Bureau as a riding ADA where he worked hand in hand with the NYPD on hundreds of investigations which included crimes for murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, gun possession, drug possession, armed robbery, bank robberies, residential burglaries, and felony assault cases. His duties as a rider also included advising the NYPD on search and seizure issues and drafting search warrants.

Mr. DePetro completed his career as a prosecutor in a felony trial bureau specializing in violent gun crimes. While there he tried a number of cases to verdict including such crimes as attempted murder, armed robbery, gun possession, and DUI/DWI.

Mr. DePetro left the District Attorney’s office in May of 2013 to join the Staff Counsel team at Travelers Insurance. While working for Travelers Mr. DePetro provided legal representation for Travelers insured clients in cases with multimillion dollar exposure. He worked to provide outstanding outcomes by deposing witnesses, drafting motions, engaging in settlement negotiations and taking several cases to trial.
